The third edition of the IPL witnessed what was the best ever final that could have happened.Munbai taking on Chennai at Navi Mumbai.In the end Chennai ended being on the winning side.



The day was 25 april super sunday for an IPL finale.The atmosphere was electrifying with a strong 55000 brimming crowd at the DY Patil stadium. There was an average closing ceremony which was a bit to long.The crowds had become restless to see the match.There was also suspense on Sachin playing for the final.The hearts of 55000 people bursted out with cheers and cries of SACHIN SACHIN!. when the little maestro made his way out of the dressing room .The crowds were predominantly mumbai supporters .The first battle was won by MSD by winning the toss and batting first.It was obvious for the team to bat first in a pressure cooker of a situation.Mumbai had to chase in the final.



CSK posted very good score of 168.mumbai had a daunting task ahead with sachin strugling with split webbing.the start of MI was one of the worst for them in the IPL 3. Nayar and Schin tried to consolidate the opposition but they were a bit slow.the decision to send bhajji with the likes tiwary, raydu,pollard was poor one.Sachin paaji played a brave knock of 48 runs but went out at the crucial time.Rayudu-tiwary ,the star pair for MI in IPL 3 was in but Tiwary could not hild his nerve.I guess the biggest mistake was to sent duminy ahead of pollard. duminy played a hopeless innings only raising the req rate from 15 to 18...

It was too big a task to score 55 runs off 18 balls for the big trinidadian POLLARD.He gave some hope by smashing bollinger for 22 runs in one over..Albie Morkel bowled the over of his life by conceding just 6 runs and getting pollard..leaving MIs to score 27 off the last over.the match was over here itself.

I think the turning point of the game was dropping RAINA twice ,once by nayar or fernando and other by zaheer when he was on 13 & 28 resp.RAINA later on went to score an unbeaten 57 which cost the MIs the IPL Trophy.....
In the end not taking away any credit from DHONI'S MEN, they were simply the better team on the day.
